Why Import mxf files (Canon C300) into FCP7 with a result of only the first 30 seconds of the file?

I have a bunch of files from a shoot on a hard drive from various cameras. The Canon C300 files when I import (literally import option) to either After Effects CS6 or Final Cut Pro 7 will only display a 30sec clip when I know the clip is longer than this eg 1m17. I have downloaded the updated plugin for FCP7 and installed. I still have the current problem .
There’s more but it asks to recapture or use media manager to fix the problem. I can’t recapture it but have tried media manager with no solution.I discovered in library/QuickTime folder, missing mpeg2 codec file which I replaced. No solution.

MXF is a “container” or “wrapper” format which supports a number of different streams of coded “essence”, encoded in any of a variety of video and audio compression formats. Therefore, when it says that Final Cut Pro supports MXF, it doesn’t mean that Final Cut Pro 7 support all MXF files. That’s why many people can’t import MXF files from any camcorder to Davinci Resolve although they saw MXF extension in supported video list.

Here I advice you to use MXF Converter for Mac to help you transcode MPEG-2 MXF videos. The excellent tool has Final Cut Pro native profile with five types of ProRes codecs- ProRes 422, ProRes 422(LT), ProRes 422(HQ), ProRes 422(proxy), ProRes 444. And it allows you feeely change the video and audio parameters as you need, of course, it can keep the original quality for editing. I have successfully use it to encode my Canon C500 MXF to ProRes for FCP(x). Below is the guide for you.
