How to import Canon XF200 to FCP X ?- Convert MXF to ProRes MOV

The Canon XF200 has joined High Definition Camcorders series of professional camcorders which is capable of recording Full HD 50 Mbps MPEG-2 shooting with 4:2:2 color sampling for high-quality chroma key compositing as well as 1440 x 1080 4:2:0 capture at 35 Mbps for specific applications. Canon XF200 has become new favorite to many professional photographers. While there might be difficulty importing Canon XF200 MXF footage to video editing program such as Final Cut Pro on Mac because FCP X does not support MXF as source media. You’d better to convert Canon XF200 MXF footage to FCP X compatible .MOV format first.

How to convert Canon XF200 MXF footage to FCP X?
1. Add Canon XF200 MXF files.
Free download Canon MXF to FCP X Converter, drag and drop your Canon XF200 MXF videos from local computer to this application.

2. Select an output format for FCP and set the output folder.
Click on the “Format” and get the dropdown menu, then move you pointer to “Final Cut Pro”. Under the sub list are there a few formats which are all compatible with FCP. Here we recommend the Apple PreRes 422(HQ) if you give the priority to the quality of the converted videos. Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you need.

2. You can adjust video parameters to meet your request, like resolution, video codec, bit rate, frame rate, etc.
3. Tick the checkbox “Merge” on main surface, and the Mac MXF Video Converter will join and combine the video clips into a single file as output. Meanwhile, you could split one large MXF video into several smaller files.
