Convert/Edit Sony PXW-FS7 4K XAVC MXF Footage in Avid Media Composer

As an excellent photographer, what we need is a professional camcorder that can shot high quality footage. For Sony fans, you may not be strange with Sony PXW-FS7 camcorder, one nice shooting camera with Full HD at high frame rates up to 180fps. Also it can output the common MPEG-2 HD 422 format used by many broadcast station around the world. Still there will be some problems exist with this camera.

‘Hey guys, I’m wondering if you can help. I’m a video producer and occasionally have shoots where a camera operator will shoot on a Sony PXW-FS7 camera. The footage is usually used in corporate videos. I can’t get Avid to see the raw footage from the camera without converting it. How could I get rid of my trouble? Any ideas there?’

If you are an advanced user, you can click the ‘Settings’ button and go to the ‘Profile Settings’ window to custom video and audio settings like resolution, video codec, frame rate, or even the audio channel.

Step 3:Start conversion.

Tap “Convert” button to start converting Sony XAVC MXF to DNxHD MOV for importing to Avid Media Composer.
Once the conversion process is at 100%, click “Open” button to get the exported MOV files for Avid MC. Now you can edit the videos in Avid MC without problem.
